Answer: “Get a torque wrench. Don’t guess. Most of these guys think ‘tight’ is better, but these engine cases are aluminum. You keep cranking on that drain plug until it ‘feels’ right, and you’re going to pull the threads right out of the block. Now your $10 oil change just became a $500 repair in my shop. Look up the spec, click the wrench, and walk away. Don’t be a hero with a breaker bar.”
